Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Prose Parser text analysis service operated by Prose Parser LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By using our service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Service Description

Prose Parser analyzes text for statistical patterns, including:

• Word frequency and vocabulary analysis
• Readability scores and metrics
• Sentiment analysis
• N-gram patterns and phrase analysis

Results are delivered via a unique token URL sent to your email address. Processing typically takes 5-30 seconds depending on text length. No user account is required. Processing is fully automated — no human reviews your submitted text. Results are available for 7 days, then automatically deleted.

2. Eligibility

To use Prose Parser, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• Not be located in a country subject to U.S. sanctions (Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria) or Russia

3. Acceptable Use

You may submit:

• Your own original writing
• Public domain texts
• Texts you have the rights to analyze

You may not submit:

• Illegal content
• Content that violates others' copyrights (unless fair use applies)
• Malicious payloads or attempts to exploit the system
• Content designed to abuse the service (spam, load testing, automated scraping)

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service without refund for violations, block IP addresses engaged in abuse, and report illegal content to authorities if required by law.

4. Payment Terms

All payments are processed securely by Stripe in USD via credit or debit card. Payment is required before processing begins. This is a pay-per-scan service — no subscriptions or recurring charges.

5. Refund Policy

Refunds are issued via Stripe to your original payment method. Refund requests must be made within 30 days of purchase. Contact contactus@proseparser.rocks for refund requests.

6. Intellectual Property

Your Content

• You retain full ownership of the text you submit
• You own the analysis results generated from your text
• You grant us a limited license to process your text solely to provide the service

Our Content

• The Prose Parser software, user interface, and visualizations are owned by Prose Parser LLC
• Pre-analyzed works in our Classics Library use public domain texts; our analysis presentation is proprietary

We do not claim ownership of your text. We do not use your text for training, marketing, or any purpose other than providing the analysis you requested. We do not retain your text after the 7-day window.

7. Data Retention

No backups are retained after deletion. You are responsible for saving your token URL to access your results. Without an account, we cannot recover lost access. See our Privacy Policy for complete data handling details.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Results will meet your specific expectations
• Analysis algorithms are free from bugs
• The service will be available at any particular time

NLP analysis is statistical in nature — we do not guarantee accuracy. Results are informational only and not professional advice. This service is not a substitute for human editing or professional services. Uptime is provided on a best-effort basis.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SPECIFIC SCAN IN QUESTION.

We are not liable for:

• Lost data due to failure to save your token URL
• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Lost profits or business opportunities
• Service interruptions or downtime
• Actions you take based on analysis results
• Third-party claims arising from your use of results

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Prose Parser LLC from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from:

• Your violation of these Terms
• Content you submit to the service
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your misuse of analysis results

11. Termination

We may terminate your access if:

• You violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use policy
• We suspect fraud or receive a payment chargeback
• Required by law
• You abuse the service (excessive requests, scraping, etc.)

Effect of termination:

• No refund for violations
• Existing scan access may be revoked
• We have no obligation to retain your data

To stop using the service:

Simply stop submitting scans. There is no account to cancel. Your data is automatically deleted after 7 days.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

• Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA
• Jurisdiction: Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Washington State
• Dispute Resolution: We encourage good faith negotiation before initiating legal action
• Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis only

There is no binding arbitration requirement. Standard court jurisdiction applies.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website via a banner or dedicated page. For material changes, we will provide 30 days notice where practical. The "Effective date" at the top indicates when these Terms were last revised.

Your continued use of Prose Parser after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

14. General Provisions

• Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect
• Entire Agreement: These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the complete agreement between you and Prose Parser LLC
• No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive our right to enforce it later
• Assignment: We may assign our rights under these Terms; you may not assign yours
